Alaska Eagle Arts, owned and operated by Brigette Ellis, began in 1986. Brigette’s intention with the art business was the exclusive representation of contemporary Native American artist, Marvin E. Oliver and his works of art. Marvin Oliver (1946-2019) was a multifaceted artist and professor who worked in a wide range of media. She began by selling his works in paper on a wholesale basis and then expanded to a retail gallery in Ketchikan in 1991. The Ketchikan Gallery continues today as the worldwide headquarters selling an expansive variety of unique and fine works of art by Marvin Oliver.
